Cookies
This website uses no analytics or advertising cookies, and shows no banner. It only stores in your browser the language, the theme and the motion pause, and only when you choose them.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files that websites keep in your browser to remember information between pages or between visits. Similar technologies exist, such as the local storage of the browser, which do the same job and do not expire on their own. On this page we use the term “cookies” to refer to all of these technologies, to keep it simple.
What this website uses
This website stores only three technical elements, those of the table below: the language you choose, the light or dark theme you choose and the pause of the movement of the orb and of the city. None of the three is written by itself: the language is saved only when you choose a language in the selector, and the theme and the pause only when you use their controls.
For that reason, a first visit to the website writes nothing to your browser: neither cookies nor local storage. We use no analytics, advertising, social or third-party cookies, and no device profiling technique either. Since the only storage is technical and stays under your control, you will find no cookie banner on this website.
| Key | Type | Purpose | Duration | When it is written |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NEXT_LOCALE | First-party cookie, technical (SameSite=Lax, Secure) | Remembering the language you have chosen | 1 year | Only when you choose a language in the selector |
| qv-theme | localStorage, technical | Remembering the light or dark theme you have chosen | Until you delete it | Only when you use the theme selector |
| qv-motion | localStorage, technical | Remembering whether you have stopped the movement of the orb and of the city | Until you delete it | Only when you use the pause control |
What this website stores, exactly
This website collects no visit statistics: no analytics tool, neither our own nor a third party's. The only things it stores in your browser are three technical items. A first-party cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, which remembers the language you chose in the selector and expires after one year. And two values in local storage, qv-theme and qv-motion, which remember the light or dark theme and whether you paused the motion; they stay until you delete the data the site keeps in your browser. None of the three is written unless you use its control. The conversation with the orb lives only in the page's memory and disappears when you close it.
Third-party services
We embed no third-party content on any page of this website: no videos, no forms and no external widgets. The links to cal.com, LinkedIn and Instagram open their own websites, which may use their own cookies under their own policies. Once you are there, what is stored depends on those services, not on us.
How to delete it
If you have chosen a language and want to go back to automatic, delete the NEXT_LOCALE cookie from the settings of your browser, in the cookies and site data section: the website will go back to inferring the language from the configuration of the browser.
The theme and the motion preference live in the local storage of the site. If you delete the data of the site from the settings of the browser, both go back to their default value: the theme goes back to following the system’s, and the movement resumes if the configuration of the device allows it.
Changes
If this website started to use any new storage, we would update this page and the date shown at the top. For any question about this policy, write to us at m.galera@qvasar.com.
